Sunstone’s Design Review
Every full feature order includes a 25 point preengineering check with a personalized
report listing non-conforming findings. Sunstone will give you the option to proceed
“as is” or upgrade to “Design Review Plus”. Here is what we check for on every Full
Feature order:
1. Check to ensure we have all necessary files in the proper format.
2. Determine that files submitted correspond with the part number placed.
3. Any “read me” or special instructions are in line with Sunstone capabilities
and are not in conflict with order form.
4. Drawing callouts are in line with Sunstone capabilities and are not in conflict
with order form.
5. Check all information supplied for proper layer stack up and material availability.
6. Check for dimensional accuracy against size supplied on order form
7. Check files for proper orientation.
8. Check to ensure that all layers are properly registered and that drill file coordinates
match artwork layers.
9. Check files to ensure that polarity is easily identified.
10. Check drill file for complete tool code information
11. Check for complete aperture information
12. Smallest hole size conforms to order form selection and is within manufacturing
capabilities
13. Smallest trace width conforms to order form selection and is within manufacturing
capabilities
14. Smallest space between conductive elements conforms to order form selection
and is within manufacturing capabilities
15. Files do not conflict with any UL specifications
16. Check files for proper annular ring requirement
17. Check files for sufficient clearances between conductive features
18. Check files for sufficient clearance from board edge to conductive feature
19. Check soldermask files for appropriate openings
20. Check legend line width to ensure legibility when printed on board
21. Check for legend encroaching solderable surfaces
22. Check for any unintentional crossed circuitry that may cause a non functional
board
23. Check for any unconnected traces or unintentional breaks in the circuitry that
may cause a non functional board
24. Check to ensure that slots and cutouts are feasible and will not hit circuitry
on any layer
25. Perform a general visual check of design for any obvious errors that could cause
a non functional board.
Sunstone’s Design Review "Plus"
In addition to the 25 point review, for a small tooling charge,
Sunstone’s experienced pre-engineering and CAM team will work with you to resolve
non-conforming findings, and will make the necessary edits to meet manufacturing
requirements. A copy of modified Gerber files will be sent to you for your records.dfd
